What's new in SHOT 2.0, at SIAM OP26

Andreas Lundell presented the new features of SHOT 2.0 at the SIAM Conference on Optimization in Edinburgh.

At the SIAM Conference on Optimization (OP26) in Edinburgh, Andreas Lundell presented What’s new in SHOT 2.0. The talk covered:

  • HiGHS as a MIP subsolver and its performance on the convex MINLP instances in MINLPLib,
  • the new Python interface SHOTpy,
  • the extended callbacks, and what they make possible: warm starts, custom primal heuristics, external cut generation and lazy MINLP constraints,
  • the decomposition of nonseparable convex quadratic expressions, the convex bounding strategy for nonconvex problems and parallel primal heuristics,
  • the roadmap after version 2.0: a JuMP interface, SCIP as a MIP subsolver, presolve and more reformulations of nonconvex terms.
